1) Training and handling methods
1.1) The training techniques used by Paws up Dog Training are games-based dog training, it is a kind, ethical, force-free, and effective approach to training. 1.2) Any forceful methods/ punishment/ corrections or equipment designed to be aversive (including choke chains, check chains, prong collars, spray collars, e-collars, slip leads pet correctors, head collars or any other device deemed unacceptable by the trainer) are not permitted in training sessions and should not be used in training your dog. 1.3) Mileage to appointments included up to 30 miles from the NG9 postcode. Anything further will be charged at 45p per mile. Please contact me for more information on this. (Excluding Virtual bookings)
2) Payment, refunds, and cancellation
2.1) Bookings of any sessions will be primarily confirmed via text message or whatsapp, but email confirmations can be provided in requested. Full payment must be taken before the first appointment. (This does not include the free discovery call) 2.2) If purchasing a bulk package of 3 or 5 sessions payment must be made in full before the first session. Single sessions cannot later be extended to a bulk package once that first session has been completed. A bulk purchase may be made at any point. All sessions purchased must be used within 1 year of the first purchase being made. 2.3) Programmes can be paid either upfront, or via monthly instalments. It is the client’s responsibility to ensure instalments are paid each month, failure to do so will result in the programme and all support stopping with immediate effect. 2.4) Ending of a contract early will result in forfeiting any remaining sessions. If you wish to end your contract early, please submit your request via email to amy@pawsup.uk with your reasoning. We shall then respond with a response and/or resolution. Paws Up Dog School may agree to refund if ending the contract is due to special circumstances. 2.5) Cancellations – Cancellations may be made up to 48 hours before the start of a session, and will be rearranged to a suitable time. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours may still be charged. Paws Up Dog School may consider true emergencies on a one to one basis and reschedule without charge. Please cancel via phone call or message, I shall respond as confirmation. 2.6) We reserve the right to cancel training sessions at our discretion, this may be due to emergency or adverse weather conditions (this includes extreme heat). We will make every effort to reschedule your session to another mutually convenient time. If this is not possible, we will refund you for the cost of that particular session.
3) Covid-19
3.1) We will continue to follow government guidelines, but all clients are expected to take due diligence. Hand Sanitizer will be used and all equipment will be thoroughly cleaned before and after each session. Face coverings can be used should a client request so, however Paws Up Dogs School also reserve the right to insist these are used at any time.
4) Safety
4.1) If there has been an instance of accident or injury before or during the duration of your training plan this must be reported to the trainer as soon as possible. 4.2) All dogs must be kept safe and it is the responsibility of the owner to ensure the safety of others (other animals and people) with regard to your dog’s behaviour at all times. 4.3) For home visits, please arrange for your dog to be in another safe room, or securely behind a gate (without access to the front door) when the trainer first arrives, unless otherwise agreed. We will advise you as to when (and how) it would be most appropriate to bring the dog into the room to be introduced to us. If you feel that this arrangement is not suitable for your dog for any reason, please contact us prior to the session and we will discuss with you the best possible alternatives. 4.4) Children are very welcome to be part of your training sessions (in fact, in some situations, we recommend they do get involved and understand the training), with appropriate adult supervision. We accept no responsibility for children during the training sessions and it is the responsibility of the supervising adult to ensure the children’s safety at all times. Young people under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
5) Marketing
5.1) Photographs and videos may occasionally be taken during training sessions and family members may be captured in these images. The purpose of these images are to be used in both educational and promotional materials. By agreeing to our terms and conditions you give consent for Paws Up Dog School to use these materials as stated above including on social media and on our website. 5.2) If you do not wish for photographs of you and/ or your dog to be used or shared, please let us know. Any verbal or written feedback (eg. by email or on feedback forms) may be used either for marketing purposes, or to be posted on our website. Only the first name of the person will be used as identification. If you are not happy for us to use your feedback in this way, please let us know. 5.3) We will not use photos with children in unless agreed with their parents/guardians.
6) Confidentiality
6.1) All client details are kept in confidence and not passed onto a third party for promotional use. Email addresses are used to inform clients of services and activities as well as current bookings and notes. 6.2) We may on occasion send out promotional emails. If you do not want to receive these emails, please contact us.
7) Complaints
7.1) Should a complaint arise, these are best addressed as soon as possible, therefore please try and speak to the trainer at the time. If this is not feasible, or you wish to follow it up, please provide full details of your complaint, in writing, to amy@pawsup.uk
8) Insurance
8.1) Paws Up Dog Training is fully insured for public liability and professional indemnity, as well as care custody and control of animals. Should you wish to see details of this insurance please contact us.
9_ Disclaimer
9.1)We make every effort to ensure the safety of both clients and dogs during our sessions. However, by making a booking with us, you are agreeing to the above terms and conditions and accept that participating in an activity with dogs, children and adults poses a risk of injury to yourself and your dog, and you agree to indemnify Paws Up Dog School for all personal injury and damage to property while attending training sessions. 9.2) The desired results will only be achieved if you (the family) continue to maintain the training programme. Quick results can be achieved but please remember that it can take time for a dog learn new behaviours, especially if these have developed over time, so time and patience are required to support your dg to correct them. A commitment from all family members (and regular visitors) is required for this training to be a success.
